IAF plane crashes near city Continuing with their dismal saga of crashes, another aircraft of the Indian Air Force, this time from the Dundigal airbase, crashed near the Vavilala village in Medak district, about 100 km from Hyderabad.
The aircraft, HPT-32, crashed next to roadside near Vavila village road after it developed technical snag. No one was injured as both the instructor and his trainee parachuted out of the aircraft after they control. The aircraft fell in shrubs near agricultural fields. There were no casualties on the ground. Medak Superintendent of Police M Shikha Goel said. Instructor Flight Lieutenant K S Reddy landed in an agricultural field while cadet Srivastava landed in a pond.
Hundreds of villagers gathered at the crash site to have a look at the damaged aircraft. Little information was for forthcoming from the IAF officials, Top officials from the airbase at Dundigal and Hakimpet inspected the spot. Last year too, a HPT-32 trainer aircraft had crashed but within the Dundigal air force base. |
