In 1968, when the Indian Air Force retired its B-24s, they donated HE-771 to ex-RCAF pilot and aircraft collector, Lynn Garrison. It was to be flown back to the United States in company with the Liberator donated to the Strategic Air Command museum.
At the time, Garrison was involved with the production of Roger Corman's Richthofen & Brown film in Ireland where he owned the collection of aircraft created for 20th Century Fox's The Blue Max.
Garrison was injured in a crash, during the production, and could not pick up the B-24. He turned it over to the RAF and somehow it eventually ended up in the Kermit Weeks collection in Florida.
Garrison was the last RCAF pilot to fly a Lancaster. This was at the 1964 Calgary International Air Show, in Calgary, Alberta.

There were also a pair of Su 7s as gateguards inside the base.A sukhoi used to be visible in a public school on the way to palam/delhi.A canberra still sits in a playground behind pune rly stn. Also find a marut in kamkla nehru park /pune.

Nice page with some interesting airplanes indeed. I was in November 2008 at FlyTech school and took pictures of the Douglas C-47 that is there. There was also a HS125 too. If you want I can send them to you. The reason why I went to see this airplane was because it belonged to a portuguese airline back to the 40's, Aero Portuguesa.
Keep doing the good work!
Best regards
Jose Arrais

As a student of NATS during 1968 - 1970 and later as an instructor in the 80s, it gives me great pleasure and excitement to view the changes.

There are are some errors on the page
http://www.warbirds.in/rajasthan.html that has placed bhatinda and sirsa in Rajasthan. I am afraid the former city is in Punjab http://bathinda.nic.in/ and the latter is Haryana http://www.haryana-online.com/Districts/sirsa.htm
Please correct it.
Plus. HAL Ajeet E-1083 in the center of crossroad near Cubbon park in B'lore is now history. It has been removed to make way for metro rail.
cheers!

What an interesting site, however might need updating because the info on the Spitfire I believe incorrect. In your write-up you say that there are no Indian Mk1X's remaining? Perhaps you know this already and just haven't updated the page?
I can find out more if need be, it flies in the UK under the ident: FAY MB224 and it is currently housed on a private airstrip in Oxfordshire England - when not flying that is!
I believe it was shipped over in a very dire state in about 1990

Hi
The last time i visited this site was about 6years ago, things have changed a lot...but back then if i had some info about an unknown warbird, i could notify you guys through email.I had emailed Jagan Pillarsetti back then about a Gnat displayed in Thrissur, Kerala. Please let me know if i can offer such assistance now, because i have some new photos of the Harvard and Hf-24 Marut displayed at Sainik School Kazhakuttam.I also remember the serial number of the Marut. It was D-1227.I will have to search through my photos to check if i have an old snap with the number on...

Hi, I have recently discovered your excellent website. I shall be visiting India during February for the airshow at Bangalore, but also visiting some other places. I am intending to find the DC3 at Thane, Mumbai. Have looked on Google Earth but cannot see it, hidden by trees? Are the hospital grounds open to the public, and would a taxi driver be able to find this easily enough? Thanks for any replies, and keep up the good work.
