A MiG-25 and Sukhoi-30 parked at BareillyThe Indian Air Force has retired the last of its MiG-25 Foxbats in service on May 1st, 2005. The last three flying MiG-25R and the solitary MiG-25U operated by No.35 Squadron at Bareilly were retired at a special ceremony.

Dundigal and Palam already receive their Warbirds.

- Less than 15 days later on 15th May 2006, A Two-Seater MiG-25U (DS-362) was flown to Air Force Academy, Dundigal by Wg Cdr Alok Chauhan. The aircraft was received by AVM Dhiraj Kukreja, the Commandant of the Academy.

A single seater MiG-25R [KP-355] has also reached the Indian Air Force Museum at Palam.

When Kapil Chandni visited Lohegaon to cover the Golden Jubilee of the Lightnings, he observed a single seater foxbat parked at a corner of the airfield - no doubt that this aircraft is headed out to the National Defence Academy at Khadakvasla, which is about some 20 km south of Pune.
