Coimbatore is a major town and district in the eastern part of Tamil Nadu. It adjoins the border with Kerala and is an important place as far as Air Force installations in Tamil Nadu are concerned. The Air Force Administrative College, No.5 Base Repair Depot, Air Force Station Sulur are all located in and around Coimbatore.

Ooty is the well known hill station in the Niligiris in Tamil Nadu. The place is known for its cool climate and being the most popular destination for honeymooners in South India. Not much of warbirds to be found there - one would expect. and One would be wrong!

HAL Gnat [E1049] at DSSC Wellington

The Country's sole Staff College for Senior officers of the Armed forces was set up at Wellington. The Defence Services Staff College [DSSC] was set up in the wake of partition as the sole Staff college at that time went to Pakistan due to its location in Quetta.
