The warbirds at Sainik School Tilaya in Jharkhand consists of the legendary Gnat/Ajeet and the much maligned Deepak.

Nestled amidst the serene landscape of Jharkhand, India, Sainik School Tilaiya stands as a distinguished institution that has played a pivotal role in shaping the future of numerous young minds. Established in 1963, this residential school holds a special place in India’s educational landscape for its unique focus on producing well-rounded individuals with a strong foundation in academics and character development.

The school has various artifacts on its campus – a bird’s eye view is below.

The campus is home to an Ajeet E-1994 that is dpslayed outside the auditorium (Above). The Ajeet still features the original ‘Lightning Flash’ and the label of “Winged Arrows”. It is displayed on pedestals – but it seems to be missing some of its fuselage panels through which the Aden Cannons would have been installed.

E1994 entered into service in 1980 and served on for about ten years till the phasing out of the Ajeet in 1990.

Joining the Ajeet recently is a HPT-32 Deepak. No. X2553 . the Deepak is mounted on concrete pedestals as well and is in good condition.
