BANGALORE, August 5th 2001:

HAL is all set to unveil its heritage center located on the Airport road, at the HAL Complex. Set up in their erstwhile theatre complex, the center will have on view several aircraft on display as well as models of Rockets contributed by ISRO.

When we visited the site, we observed an HF-24 Marut two seater (as seen in the Bangalore pages. A MiG-21U Twin Seater (U 2974), the Wooden Mockup of the Light Combat Aircraft, a Canberra and a De Havilland Devon. Though we were not allowed to take photographs, it was informed to us that the Center will be open for public viewing from August 15th onward.

It can be said with conviction that this will feature the largest collection of vintage aircraft open for general public after the Indian Air Force Museum and the Naval Aviation Museum.
